What you need to know: Ideogram has launched version 2.0 of its AI image generation tool, introducing new features and expanding its accessibility. This release comes amid significant developments in AI image generation, including updates from competitors like Midjourney and the launch of Google's Pixel Studio generator.
The finer details:
Ideogram 2.0 offers five distinct image generation styles: General, Realistic, Design, 3D, and Anime.
Each style caters to different visual needs, from basic illustrations to photorealistic images.
The platform also introduced Ideogram Search, allowing users to explore its vast library of over a billion public images.
Pricing ranges from a generous free tier of up to 40 free images per day to subscription plans starting at $7/month, with options for more advanced users.
So what? The launch of Ideogram 2.0 intensifies competition in the AI image generation market. Its diverse style options and improved text rendering capabilities could make it a versatile tool for both casual users and professionals in design and marketing. The introduction of an iOS app and API expands its reach and potential applications. As AI image generation becomes more accessible and sophisticated, it may reshape creative industries, potentially disrupting traditional design processes and raising questions about the future of human-created art and imagery.
BIOENGINEERED INTELLIGENCE
Biological neurons continuously create, reinforce, diminish, and eliminate connections as they learn, serving as inspiration for silicon-based neural computers

What you need to know: Swiss startup FinalSpark is pioneering a new frontier in computing by developing biocomputers that use living human brain cells. These "cyborg biocomputers" consist of brain organoids - small clusters of about 10,000 living neurons - wired into silicon chips.
The finer details:
FinalSpark's Neuroplatform uses brain organoids grown from stem cells. These organoids are kept in incubators at body temperature and connected to electrical circuits via tiny electrodes.
The system can stimulate the organoids electrically and measure their responses.
A unique feature of this platform is the ability to reward the organoids with dopamine, which is released when the neurons perform well. This is achieved by encapsulating dopamine in a molecular cage that opens when exposed to specific light frequencies.
The company is now offering cloud-based access to these biocomputers, allowing researchers and commercial users to interact with them using Python-based software.
So what? These biocomputers are potentially up to a billion times more energy-efficient than silicon chips, which could help mitigate the massive energy consumption associated with AI training. While not yet capable of training large AI models like GPT-5, this technology could pave the way for more efficient machine learning platforms in the future. However, the development of these biocomputers raises complex ethical questions about sentience and the use of living cells for computing purposes.
YOUR 5 MIN AI LEARNING

What you need to know: Midjourney is an innovative AI tool that generates captivating images from text prompts, allowing users to bring their creative visions to life effortlessly. Whether you're crafting stunning visuals for marketing campaigns, personal art projects, or even concept art for games and films, Midjourney helps you create unique visuals tailored to your ideas, making it an essential resource for anyone looking to enhance their projects with striking imagery. Dive into the world of visual storytelling and let Midjourney elevate your projects to new heights!
Step-by-step:
Visit Midjourney and click ‘Sign Up’ or ‘Log in’ depending on whether you have an existing account or not. If not, sign in using your Google or Discord account. After reading the terms and conditions, sign them to begin using Midjourney.
Click the top bar which states ‘What will you imagine?’ and describe what type of image you want to create. You can also include what type of art style you want your image to have. For example, my prompt is ‘A great blue whale next to a crab in a fantasy style painting’.
Click ‘Enter’ on your keyboard and a set of four images will be generated in the ‘Create’ tab from the left side of the screen. Click on the images to see them closer and in more detail.
Once these images have been generated, there are a variety of ‘Creation Actions’ you can take to build and enhance your favourite images. You can learn more about the ‘Creation Actions’ by hovering over the text, next to the buttons. Feel free to explore with these! Once done, click the ‘Create’ tab on the left side to see your new generations.
To change image settings, click on the 3 lines on the right of the top text bar. Here, you can change the orientation and aesthetics of your generated art.
Finally, to organise or download your artwork, select the ‘Organise’ tab on the left-hand side where you can click or drag images together, to either save into a folder on Midjourney or download them onto your device.
Use your imagination and see what you can create today!
